"Ljudi koji imaju povećanu potrebu da čuju lepe stvari o sebi često probegavaju 'Fejsbuku', kao načinu da to postignu", istakao je autor istraživanja Kris Karpenter s Univerziteta u Zapadnom Ilinoisu.Karpenter je naveo i da "Fejsbuk" daje tim narcisoidnim tendencijama mogućnost da koriste internet stranicu za dobijanje povratnih reakcija koje su im potrebne i postanu centar pažnje.Naučnici su došli do tog rezultata obavivši anketu na 300 ljudi koji su popunjavali upitnik NPI (Narcissistic Personality Inventory questionnaire).
