MayDay Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 (ovo za gastose)Entry into United States of AmericaThe entry procedures into the United States of America have changed.Established by the United States of America in November 2009, the Secure Flight Program is a program that requires all airlines to transmit certain information about their passengers to the TSA (the Transportation Security Administration). In order to improve safety, airlines operating in the territory of the United States must communicate the name, surname, date of birth and gender of all passengers they have on board to this organization. To facilitate the collection of passenger data (Secure Flight Passenger Data), the airlines involve travel agencies when booking tickets. In practice, passengers travelling or transiting into the United States have nothing more to do than the procedures currently in place. To be done by the travellerTravellers from the following countries (Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Netherlands, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland), including children, regardless of age, travelling to the U.S. for a touristic trip, business trip or for transit, no longer need a visa if they can present:- a biometric passport, electronic or optical scanning individual passport valid and issued prior to October 26, 2005. Otherwise, a visa will be required. Although this is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended to travel with a passport that is valid at least for 6 months after the return date.- a completed ESTA form.- a round trip flight ticket (proving you will leave the U.S. territory, regardless of entry and exit airports).- a proof of solvency (credit card, travellers checks, etc.). - the application form for visa waiver (Form I-94W) provided by the carrier during the flight. and he is staying no more than 90 days (the stay can be extended on site, a visitor can not change status, accept employment or study). ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization): "Visa Waiver Program”Mandatory since January 2009, except for US citizens or Green Card holders, the traveller must fill out this document (ESTA) online prior to his/her trip to the USA. Delivered by the VWP (Visa Waiver Program) it replaces the traditional "green leaf" and is valid for a period of 2 years or until the passport expiration date. The cost is 14 US $. In most cases, approval is given on line almost immediately by receiving the words "approved authority".Although there is no obligation for married women to provide their maiden name, U.S. authorities recommended, in the interest of the client, to indicate both names. We strongly recommend that you print your ESTA and keep it with you during your trip. Also, keep your ESTA number in a safe place during and after your trip for future stays in the United States.A new ESTA application is required when: - the traveller has a new passport,- the traveller changes name, - the traveller changes gender, - the country of citizenship changes; - the answers to the "yes" or "no" questions on the ESTA application have changed. If the ESTA expires before the traveller leaves the U.S., he/she not required to apply for a new ESTA. However, the traveller will need to submit a new request for authorization for any upcoming trip. For more information about ESTA and to filling out the form, please visit the following website: https://esta.cbp.dhs.govTo be carried out by travel professionalsAPIS (Advance Passenger Information System): "Border Security"This is a form for U.S. immigration, prepared and sent by the airlines. The airlines have an obligation to communicate various information electronically 20 minutes after the plane takeoff, including the names of all passengers on board.SFPD (Secure Flight Passenger Data): "Watch-list matching"This new form is under the authority of the TSA (Transportation Security Administration of the USA) and allows the government to compare all persons entering the United States from the airline list with their "watch-list". The SFPD applies to all passengers' PNR (Passenger Name Record) booked on all flights touching American soil, all U.S. airlines or all code-share flights The information to be provided in the passenger PNR are: name, surname, date of birth, gender, passport number and ESTA number (except for US passengers and Green Card holders). From December 1st 2010, all airlines will block the issuance of air tickets if the SFPD record is incomplete. Since September 15th, some airline companies (ex. American Airlines or United Airlines) have already implemented this procedure if the SFPD is incomplete.
