Homebrew nemam trenutno nigde instaliran, pretpostvaljam da ima neko pametno pretrazivanje preko sajta (MacPorts ga nema).

ume da bude zeznuto na macos-u sa spoljnim programskim paketima.

nekad je taj spoljnji softver od odredjenog eksperimenta, a ne javni.

 

u mom slucaju nije pomoglo ni to sto je taj eksperiment distribuirao vecinu dependencies preko svojih ports.

zaglavilo je na tome sto je software hteo sistemski python, iako sam ga konfigurirala 

da koristi drugu verziju pythona koju sam sama instalirala. nakon x pokusaja, u ocaju sam instalirala 

ubuntu na VM. instalacija tog istog software-a sa nesistemskim pythonom na ubuntu-u je prosla 

glatko iz prvog pokusaja. btw. neki drugi programi mi se bez problema instaliraju na macu sa nesistemskim 

pythonom, ali ovaj jedan nije hteo nikako.

 

za astro i cestice, linux je cesto bolji posto najveci broj eksperimenata radi pod tim sistemom. 

mac je dobar za 95% mojih potreba, ali ovih 5% ponekad zivot zagorcavaju.

Gde je Winodows u tom svetu (astro i čestice :))? Ozbiljno pitam. Serveri, desktopi...? Ima li ga ili linux tu dominira potpuno?

linux ovde potpuno dominira. za sada od tri eksperimenta i jednog cyber-projekta na kome radim, je postojala jedna windows masina. taj eksperiment je koristio cetiri mac-a za kontrolu detektora, ostale masine su bile linux. ta jedina windows masina je bila koriscena kao alarm za nagledanje ambijenta u labu (temperatura, co2, vlaznost vazduha itd.). 

 

ostalo su uglavnom RHEL i Scientific Linux (na institucijama), a privatno po kancelarijama akademaca uglavnom laptopovi sa ubuntuom ili macos-om, umesto desktopova. ako ima desktopova, onda su pod linuxom. 

 

inace, uopsteno na univerzitetima ovde, admnistracija uglavnom koristi windows, racunarske laboratorije za studente na osnovnim studijama su windows ili macos, a serveri i klasteri za ostale akademske korisnike kojima trebaju masine za obradu eksperimentalnih podataka su linux.

hvala vam za trud. moj posao se u velikoj meri svodi na code development tako da ne koristim mnogo (ista) od ovih raznih python paketa pobrojanih gore. 

 

bitno mi je da imam dostupne fortranske kompajlere, razlicite verzije mpi, python i idl (nezavisan skript jezik malo poznat van astrofizike, medicine, meteorologije i defense, ali u tim oblastima jako rasprostranjen) plus razni debageri i sl. sve to uglavnom postoji i za mac osx, s tim da za osx moram da uzimam licence koje kostaju (u linuxu placam samo za idl).

 

pored toga sto se osx povremeno (bar jednom nedeljno) zakuca na kompu tako da mu jedino hardverski reset pomaze (sumnjam na verziju XQuartz), meni je najveci problem sto su mi sve ostale masine pod linuxom i sto mi stalno prebacivanje sa osx na linux stvara shizofrenu konfuziju (small details, ali jako mnogo njih).

 

u svakom slucaju probacu da stavim kubuntu na ovu masinu. ako radi dobro je, ako ne - dobice ga gospodja pod osx, a ja cu naci neki pc za svoje potrebe.

 

pritom, stvarno ne razumem odakle fasciiranost macom kod toliko mnogo ljudi.

Dobar i pouzdan hardware. EDIT. Posebno u sinergiji sa OS-om i softwareom pisanim specijalno i samo za taj hardware. EDIT 2. I neopterećivanje sa backwards compatibility, što je uvek bilo nešto što je Windows prikazivalo u lošijem svetlu nego što je, mislim, zasluživao.

 

Nije sve baš pusti marketing, kako neki misle.

Ubuntu Mate.

 

Ne snalazim se sa kde a mate je nesto zezao nije sve instalirao.

Novi gnome je potpuno neupotrebljiv za desk racunare i za ozbiljan rad, cak i onaj rollback serucka :cry:

Pitanje? (ako moze)

Dugo godina sam radio vc++ win, sad sam u drugoj firmi, softver za sivenje i krojenje popud cad/cam -a pisan za lin u py.

Da li je RH besplatan do neke mere (zadnje sam koristio rh 6) a ako nije kakav je SC linux, probao SUSE nije mi se svideo, sad sam na Ubuntu Mate ali je prespor.

Lutam, masina bi mi sluzila samo za py razvoj + django?

Na CentOS/Fedora  nisam upeo da instaliram touchpad :cry:  na Umate - je sve proradilo odma (imam i neki instrument za merenje vlage) ali mi je bas spor.

Pycharm se bukvalno 5 min podize???

Imam .deb i rpm drajvere i pakete za instrument koji koristim.

Ništa te ne sprečava da instaliraš RH.

Nemaš support i zakrpe i to je to.

Samo ne znam do koje ver.

Nigde nisam nasao neku Desktop distribuciju za dw.

Kako je to neko dev ili test okruženje možeš dozvoliti luksuz™ da ga ne krpiš redovno... Mada ako ti nije radio centOS...
