The research focused on salaries in different economies across a range of tech roles.Ireland maintains a significant pay advantage in several key roles, such as Data Engineers and Solutions Architects, Hays found.Tech salaries in the UK and Germany are on average lower than in Ireland by 17% and 19% respectively, the recruitment company estimated.According to Eurostat, while Irish salaries are above average in the EU, the overall prices here are also 40.9% higher that the bloc's average.Hays noted that the United States remains the global leader in compensation – with average tech salaries reaching approximately €108,387 compared to €81,338($95k na danasnjem kurus)in Ireland – the data reveals a tightening gap in specialised fields such as Data Scientists.Irish tech salaries are also broadly in line with those in Australia and Singapore, while contractor day rates rival Luxembourg and Singapore."Ireland is no longer just a European branch office for major tech companies, it is now a primary engine of global tech innovation", said Barney Ely, Senior Managing Director for Hays Ireland.
June 2Jun 2 Ali, stanje u Republici Irskoj za pocetnike u IT nije dobro,"We are seeing a shift where AI is enabling tech professionals to move away from routine tasks and towards work that is more strategic and globally impactful."The rapid AI adoption by tech giants has also lead to large-scale job cuts globally, with META announcing layoffs for 350 people out of its 1,800 workforce in Ireland last week."We've recently seen layoffs at major players across the tech industry, but the continued strength of salaries demonstrates the resilience of the Irish market", Mr Ely said.
Edited June 2Jun 2 by Venom

But there’s a second fallacy, hiding inside the first one, and few actually see it right away. An economist did, though. Daniel Susskind, in A World Without Work, calls it the “lump of labour fallacy fallacy”, and once you see it you can’t unsee it.It goes like this. The lump of labour fallacy is the mistake of thinking the amount of work is fixed. The lump of labour fallacy fallacy is the mistake of thinking that the new work that gets created has to be done by humans. The fallacy was never about whether more work gets created. Of course it does. The fallacy is the quiet assumption that we’re the ones who’ll be doing it. Strip that assumption out and the whole reassurance collapses, because there’s no economic law that says a freshly created job has your name on it instead of an agent’s.
