💬 “…the last time a first-year teacher salary could comfortably afford the rent for a one-bedroom dwelling was around a decade ago.”

90 per cent of teachers can't afford to live where they teach: study

A UNSW study has found that more than 90% of teaching positions across NSW are located in Local Government Areas where housing is unaffordable on a teacher’s salary.

Ljudi onda pričaju o vremenskoj prognozi i ljubavi".

Za Australijske uslove verovatno pomnožiti sa makar 5 puta (adjusted for inflation).

PS A i ženina makar upola toliko...

Obećana zemlja?

Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) shows there are more than 45,000 people under 25 in Australia who are experiencing homelessness, which includes people living in "severely crowded dwellings".

Some other surveys indicate the number is much higher.

Ms Mitchell says she does not expect her situation to change in the near future.

Despite working two jobs in town, she is worried it could take years before she and her daughter will be able to have a home.

Local public housing waitlists are years long and not keeping up with demand, while prices at are a 12-year high in the local rental market.

Nista novo.

At the other end of the spectrum, it takes the median Sydney household 13.3 years to save for a deposit on a unit and 18.2 years to save for a deposit on a house in the 25th percentile (75 per cent of houses are more expensive) to reflect this hypothetical household pursuing a ‘starter home’.

With each passing year the growth in the deposit hurdle would grow ever larger if the trend of rising housing prices over the past 30 years were to be repeated.
