Prosla je ispod radara vest da je Izrael priznao Somalilend kao nezavisnu drzavu. Posto ne verujem da im je naprasno stalo do prava naroda Somalilenda na samoopredeljenje, pa su posle nekoliko decenija poleteli da budu prvi koji ih priznaju razumno je pretpostaviti da su sa tamosnjim separatistickim vlastima postigli neki dogovor, verovatno o naseljavanju te teritorije Palestincima.
