Zao mi sto je preskocen Matthew Macfadyen koji nije nista manje genijalan od ove trojice.

Btw, ne znam po kom osnovu je Culkin 'supporting actor', valjda im bilo glupo da ih sve metnu medju glavne.

 

Filmove sam slabo ispratio, ali ako je King Richard u konkurenciji za najbolji, mora da je godina bila bas tanka. 

Od stranih, Finac i Japanac su izvrsni, ostalo nisam gledao. Almodovar i Sorentino su stigli na trafike, Farhadi ce tek krajem januara.

King Richard uopste nije los, Will Smith vise nego dobar, CODA je swadak porodicni film posle nedeljnog rucka (preporucujm supu i rinflajs), ipak pitaj boga sta ta dva filma traze u konkurenciji. Belfast poceo i batalio, postoji vrlo malo tema koje su veci smor od englesko irskog sukoba. Dune je verovatno kandidovan jos dok se snimao, tako da ostaje samo The Power of the Dog, kralj Benedict i njegova pratnja, koji izgledaju kao crne ovce u ovoj konkurenciji.

 Don't Look Up

 

Još od Anchormana (2004) i Step Brothers (2008) ništa što je McKay snimio nije mi se dopalo. Step Brothers mi je još obeležio dalje imbecilizovanje komedije na specifično oduran način zaoštravajući istovremeno profane i infantilne šale skupa sa priličnom dozom primene čitanih udžbenika i teorije proistekle iz ovakvih ili onakvih filozofija. Kada je prešao u novu fazu i najavio film The Big Short (2015) sa glumačkom ekipom i u produkciji koja je odisala samim kremom Holivuda, pomislio sam da će možda naći idealnu primenu te groteske infantilnog i filozofskog već samim time što je Svetska ekonomska kriza sama po sebi imala sličnih osobenosti. Tako sam ovde i napisao na forumu. Uostalom, najlakše je da citiram šta smo pisali čekajuči premijeru kroz nekoliko meseci:

Blago rečeno, nikad ga nisam voleo. Anchormani i Step-Brothers su mi užasne komedije, a baš su pune ozbiljnih intelektualnih pretenzija i istovremeno najjadnijeg primitivnog humora.

 

Inače, ništa od njega više ne bih gledao, čak ni Ant-Mana, ali The Big Short mi zaista deluje drugačije i sada mi je za pod obavezno gledati. Stvarno mi se čini drugačije. McKay bi mi mogao sasvim leći, bez tog poslovično grotesknog najjadnijeg primitivnog humora...

Naravno, @kobni zelaya je bio u pravu, ja nisam, ako se zanemari nesrećna činjenica da je McKay dobio Oskara...

 

Naprosto, vreme je takvo i baš zato što je takvo traži sebe u pogledu satiričara poput McKaya. Vode ljubav u položaju 69 u tom intimnom prostoru javne sfere u kome baš i ne viđaš seks ni blizu tako često koliko tematizaciju te vrlo popularne društvene igre...

 

 

Belfast (2021)

 

Legenda je izmaštana priča koja svoj koren ima u stvarnosti: ljudi, događaja, istorije. Mit je istina. Čim to prestaje biti, on se menja, preoblikuje u novu istinu, u mit koji kaže da je onaj raniji bio zabluda. Naravno, kao što su legende zapravo lažne priče o drugim ljudima, tako i mit može biti duboka istina koju si spoznao u sebi. Odrastao mimo drugih i njihovih spoznaja odrastanja, ipak imajući kao sentiment to mitsko mesto kao kolevku koja je pomogla da te ne odredi.

 

To je jeziv prostor, pun laži i možda je najeziva od svih njegovih obmana iluzija topline i pripadanja. Njegova najhumanija istina može biti ta sa kojom uđe u istoriju: po zlu, stradanjima, prolivenoj krvi. Po tome što je pocepao sebe da svoje ne bi porobio.

 

Kenneth Branagh je uzdigao Belfast do parabole o takvim mestima kakva se dešavaju kroz istoriju i takvom putu do duboke unutrašnje promene kakva se može dogoditi detetu.

 

Izuzetan film, sve je u njemu prožeto i duboko prepleteno i misli i emocije, bez patetike, bez jeftinog trika, skoro pa hladno koliko i pitko, lagano i lepršavo, usvrhovljeno kao ostvareno biće.

Možda ti ovaj moj post blago sugeriše da film nije takav kakav ti se pričinio prekinuvši ga pre prvog važnog prepoznavanja, pa ponovo pokušaš da ga gledaš...

Nisam mislio da će ponižavati Jane Campion nagradom za neuspeli film samo zato što je žena, pa sam o filmu The Power of the Dog sam pisao na drugom topiku. Ipak, citiram i ovde šta sam napisao:

Nije uspela Campion da prodre kao što je postizala u svojim najuspešnijim filmovima. Od početka je jasno da dramaturgija nije uspela da se razvija iz kojekakvih paragrafa ustava ili pokreta ovog naizgled posthumnog sveta.

 

Ipak, pogled u brda u daljini i šta se u njima vidi ostaje kao snažni amblem u iskustvu, mnogo jači od celog filma. Imala je snažnu, baš snažnu inspiraciju u glavnom prepoznavanju koje čeka tamo gde treba, baš kao lutkina kuća. Ali, nije ovoga puta uspela da to bude ono što je moglo biti izvrsno. Obzirom da je dramatizacija romana, teško mi je da dokučim šta je sve moglo biti problem...

Being the Ricardos (2021)

 

Verovatno je ovo jedan od najboljih američkih filmova u poslednjih nekoliko godina. Depresivan je koliko i doba u kome je sniman, promišljen je dublje nego što licemerno zahtevaju najrigidnije norme na kojima se ono uzdiglo. Naravno, samim tim i prezren i skrajnut zato što hiperintelektualna isfolirana rulja naprosto nije u stanju ili podmuklo ne želi da vidi da dobija odgovor u skladu sa svojim zahtevima i na štetu samog autora.

 

Autor ovog originalnog scenarija je dramski pisac prvo afirmisan na Brodveju sa dugom filmskom karijerom potom. Ovo je drama proistekla iz čistog majstorstva stasalog na slavnim Njujorškim daskama koje život znače.

 

Film ima tužan kraj na meta planu. Dramski pisac umire. Ko ga jebe kada je i u ovakvim okolnostima uložio toliko truda i na kraju uspeo da odgovori na sve sulude zahteve. Budala se ubila od muke i poštenog rada.
