Turnbull Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) Zanimljiv tekst, Gandalfe. Ne znam da li si čitao ovaj, koji zapravo ima sličnu tezu. Probably the most problematic aspect of Tibi’s depiction of Islamism is the future it portends: there is no way forward except conflict. What else is the reader to infer about his depiction of a totalitarian movement that he equates to Nazism and Stalinism; a movement which he claims is by its nature incapable of reform or moderation, and with which engagement is impossible? He never says it, but the only future one could resonably imagine is drenched in violent confrontation. That conclusion is neither favorable nor necessary. Thankfully, Islamists have shown that they can and do moderate themselves (though the unfortunate flipside of this is that they can also become more extreme). Those who have demonstrated this propensity, and have eschewed violence, can and should be engaged on all levels. The alternative can only lead to perpetual conflict and will not empower the more liberal and humanistic Islam that Tibi espouses. Nor will it ease the Western suspicions and Islamophobia that he correctly condemns. Edited August 20, 2013 by Syme
Takeshi Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 EGYPT'S ARMY IS THE ENEMY - A VIEW FROM TURKEYBy Ahmet InselRADIKAL/WorldcrunchI wrote a month ago that a revolution is a radical exit from absolute monarchies, dictatorships and totalitarian regimes — the end of a financial-social regime and the start of another. Therefore, the revolution in Egypt is continuing. The claim I made at the end of that article is much more valid today: “The ultimate step of this revolution is the dethroning of the real monarch [the army].” Will this revolution give birth to a democracy in the short term? There is no guarantee of that. The result mostly will depend on the evolution of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Ali koliko vidim i na ovoj temi svi se slažu (strahuju) da je ovo tek još jedan tranzicioni period.
Muwan Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Evo ga još jedan vju iz sanatorijuma Turske: “Now the West starts to say democracy is not the ballot box or not only the box but we know that the ballot box is the people’s will,” Erdoğan said Aug. 20 at an expanded meeting of the provincial chairs of his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).The prime minister criticized Western countries' stance vis-à-vis Egypt’s coup, saying, "The West should [understand] the description of democracy, they need to learn it.”“This is what has been implemented in Egypt. Who is behind this? Israel. We have evidence,” the prime minister said, citing a meeting between a French intellectual and the Israeli justice minister in France before the 2011 elections.Erdoğan said the intellectual was Jewish. “‘The Muslim Brotherhood will not be in power even if they win the elections. Because democracy is not the ballot box’: This is what he said at that time,” Erdoğan said.
