Roger Sanchez Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 NASA's Cassini imaging scientists processed this view of Saturn's moon Dione, taken during a close flyby on June 16, 2015. This was Cassini's fourth targeted flyby of Dione and the spacecraft had a close approach altitude of 321 miles (516 kilometers) from Dione's surface. Also making an appearance in this image is Saturn's geysering moon Enceladus, seen in the upper right, just above the bright line of Saturn's rings.North on Dione is up and rotated 44 degrees to the left. The image was taken in visible light with the Cassini spacecraft's wide-angle camera on June 16, 2015.The view was acquired at a distance of approximately 48,000 miles (77,000 kilometers) from Dione and at a sun-Dione-spacecraft, or phase, angle of 128 degrees. Image scale is 3 miles (5 kilometers) per pixel.
Skyhighatrist Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 ESA today confirmed that its Rosetta mission will be extended until the end of September 2016, at which point the spacecraft will most likely be landed on the surface of Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. “This is fantastic news for science,” says Matt Taylor, ESA’s Rosetta Project Scientist. “We’ll be able to monitor the decline in the comet’s activity as we move away from the Sun again, and we’ll have the opportunity to fly closer to the comet to continue collecting more unique data. By comparing detailed ‘before and after’ data, we’ll have a much better understanding of how comets evolve during their lifetimes.”

Linus Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 roze planeta! yey! ed: sto neko rece na tviteru - the little world with the huge heart :) Crvenkasta boja svih trans-neptunskih objekata potice od tolina - mesavine ugljovodonicnih ledova i slicnih stvari, uzgred iste one skrame koja je sa unutrasnje strane oblozila retortu u Miler-Jurijevoj eksperimentu.
Edited July 14, 2015 by Arkadija
