The GOVNO framework is a novel approach to project management that aims to improve upon the shortcomings of the popular scrum methodology. Each letter of the acronym represents a key aspect of the framework:

  • G: Governance - The GOVNO framework places a strong emphasis on effective governance to ensure that all team members are working towards the same goals and are held accountable for their actions.
  • O: Objectives - The framework focuses on setting clear and measurable objectives for each project, and ensuring that all team members understand their roles and responsibilities in achieving those objectives.
  • V: Visibility - The GOVNO framework emphasizes transparency and visibility throughout the project lifecycle, so that all stakeholders have access to the information they need to make informed decisions.
  • N: Networks - The framework promotes the use of networks and cross-functional collaboration to foster innovation and improve communication among team members.
  • O: Outcomes, not outputs - The GOVNO framework is focused on achieving high-quality outcomes for each project, and measures success based on how well those outcomes align with the project’s objectives.
