"I wish these students had some perspective. They have largely turned public discourse against their cause; I am a leftist and have only been pissed off by their disruptive conduct and misrepresenting the anti-Semitic elements of their movement. Furthermore, their choice to protest their own universities is confusing and shows a lack of understanding of the political process. If they really wanted to create political pressure, they should be protesting their state and federal elected officials. Organising calling, letters, and protesting these government officials directly. They look like children who don't know that their school isn't a national authority. It's honestly embarrassing and besmirches the history of student protests.

I am also confused by their choice to protest so vigorously for this war, when there are many many important and direct problems that these kids apparently do not think are relevant for American people - women's freedom of health care access, guns, future dictator, war with our direct allies... That's why they can't outrun the accusations of anti-Semitism, because no one can answer why they are willing to get arrested for calling for the end of Israel, but they didn't care about all the people dying in Yemen, or Ukraine, or the Uighers in China, or the Rohingya in Myanmar, or let's face it, the many many people who die from inadequate access to health care and over access to firearms in the USA.

That's why these kids can't be taken seriously."

"There’s no controversy here: camping on private property (“protesting”) + demanding unrealistic stupid things + refusing to leave + blocking normal life on campus + antisemitic chants = police will bust your butt, babies. This is NOT free speech issue."

"I see protestors not obeying direct, legal orders by police, who are authorized to be there (the protestors are not). You know what happens when you do that? You get arrested. You know what happens when you double down and resist arrest? You force the police to restrain you, and cuff you.

The police are not Israel, they don't work for Israel, and these protestors are treating them like complete trash. The Police are just doing their job."

"Hamas committed rape, murder, torture, and kidnapping on Oct. 7 of 2023. They then hid in tunnels underneath Gaza, using the Palestinian people as human shields. How do you align yourself with the suffering Palestinians and not condemn Hamas for what they have led those people into?"

"Biden is not on the sidelines.
By making the U.S. complicit in Israel's atrocities in Gaza Biden created most of the problems occurring at our college campuses today.  By refusing to harshly condemn Israel's actions and cut off military and financial aid to Israel Biden is guaranteeing that the turmoil will continue."

"I'm a Jewish American who was very active in the anti-Vietnam War protests as both a graduate student and an Assistant Professor at Duke University which cost me my job and which led President Biden's predecessor, President Lyndon Johnson, to abandon his re-election campaign. Biden is falling into the same quagmire that swallowed Johnson. Still, he could easily save himself, his re-election, and our democracy and end the student protests as well by realizing that his unconditional, unrelenting, "ironclad" support for Israel is the root cause of the unrest now spreading across the nation's college campuses that may follow him to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in a potentially fateful re-enactment of the 1968 police riots the led to the election of Trump's predecessor in Republican Richard Nixon. Today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is once again thwarting Biden's last-ditch approach to negotiate a cease-fire and free the hostages by declaring he will invade Rafah adding to the body count of over 34,000 Palestinians. It's time for Biden to break with Netanyahu as his leading Democratic Jewish Senators Bernie Sanders and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer have advised by halting all military aid to Israel, demanding an immediate and permanent cease-fire to save the lives of Israelis, Palestinians, and the hostages. It's time for Biden to be a peacemaker rather than support the Israeli military killing machine."

"Why are so many young people passionate about this issue yet threats which directly affect them as US residents, like abortion rights and the erosion of democracy, have relatively minor activism? I wish there was more enthusiasm for domestic issues, particularly with an election approaching that could have alarming consequences for all of us."

"Biden lacks empathy for the Palestinians.  It shows when he talks about the Palestinians compared to the Israelis.

That lack of empathy combined with policies that favor Israel will likely cause him to lose the younger voters and, therefore, the election.

I do not foresee younger voters being able to look over this issue and vote for Biden.  It’s looking like welcome back Trump."

LA Times prvomajski clanak o razbijanju protesta, znaci idem redom po najlajkovanijim, ne biram

"When people wanted to help Ukraine they volunteered for the Ukrainian armed forces and held fundraisers. That's direct action.

When people want to help Palestinians they demand divestment and occupy buildings. How will that really help Palestinians?

Why don't they hold fundraisers and then head over there so they can do some real direct action? They can organize a new government, help distribute aid, use their bodies as human shields, and use their education to make Palestinian lives better."

"There is urgency in removing tents from UCLA; no such urgency for removing tents on sidewalks blocking pedestrians and disabled with wheelchair (ADA compliance). If Biden says, rule of law needs to be applied, those need to be across the board, that means clearing out sidewalks of tents." /:lol:/

"I am all for 1st amendment rights. However, when these students turn to violence, break into buildings, vandalize, and destroy property they need to go to jail. Those that caused injury to others also need to be expelled from the University, others who refused law enforcement orders to disperse need to go to jail and be suspended."

"So these antisemitic "protesters" tagged up the campus? Nice. Where were they when Israeli women were getting raped and killed in front of their children?"

"Kick the students out of school and make room for kids who want to go to UCLA to learn. Throw the outsider "agitators" in jail for a few months until they calm down."

"A history lesson for the kids out there: Robert F. Kennedy, father of the current presidential candidate, was killed by a Palestinian terrorist -- in Los Angeles!"

MMT, for those who aren’t familiar with it, is a small, cohesive group of people who go around telling the government to borrow more and spend more. It stands for “modern monetary theory”, which implies that there’s a theory of how the economy works. So far, when economists have looked into the MMT literature, they’ve concluded that it’s less of a cohesive theory than a meme — a set of arguments for a specific policy, rather than a fully laid-out description of how the economy works. (The MMT people, whose rhetorical style is heavy on scorn and social media aggression, naturally allege that the economists simply haven’t given them a serious reading.)

Bajdenara se hvali kako je uveo tarife na trgovinu sa Kinom, a opozicija ga podseća kako se pre pet godina podsmevao Trampu kad je ovaj tarifirao Kinu.
