noskich Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) ovo englezi lazu. U Londonu i obican Subway sendvic sa soft drink izlazi 7-8 funti ako me secanje dobro sluzi.

noskich Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) Ako te zanima vise pogledaj ovde: http://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20140308074608-247253556-the-high-cost-of-singapore-living Ne znam da li se moze videti bez naloga, evo kopirano ako ne moze: A recent report by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) placed Singapore at the top of the pile of costliest cities in the world. Now if you know Singapore and Singaporeans, you know we like to be at the top of lists. As a small country with virtually no natural resources, it's always gratifying to know that we have managed to compete with the world's best in certain fields. We're especially proud of the fact that we're a very business-friendly environment, and have great connectivity via our air and sea ports. But being the most expensive isn't that great an accolade. And the EIU report stirred up a fair amount of negativity from Singaporeans themselves, online and in other media. Much of the sentiment was directed at the high cost of living and how hard it can be to get by. I made the point in my speech in Parliament on this year's national Budget the day that news of the EIU report broke, that the report was in essence an internet-based tool to help companies and human resource managers to structure remuneration packages for employees abroad, or for business travelers. It used a basket of goods that is meant to be representative of the lifestyle of expatriates in various cities in the world, and compared them, using New York City as a base. The basket included filet mignon steaks, Burberry raincoats, the best tickets to the theatre and dinner in a top restaurant for four. Not quite your everyday fare here in Singapore, if I could use myself as an average citizen for benchmarking's sake. It's quite different from a measurement such as a country's Consumer Price Index, a point made unequivocally by Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam, also in Parliament, the next day. He emphasized that the information in the EIU report was not representative of the costs and lifestyles of the average Singaporean. For example, it did not take into consideration public housing or public transport, which many Singaporeans consume. In fact, public transport in Singapore is significantly cheaper than many global cities, including New York. But a broader question to ask maybe whether or not we should worry about the report at all. After all, the Government has reassured everyone that the bulk of us locals need not fear that our costs are higher compared to ANY other city in the world. But there's no doubt that it's more expensive for visitors, and for expatriates looking to work here. This seems to gel with the Government's declared aim of trying to reduce the country's overall dependency on foreign labour, in a bid to make the economy more competitive, and companies operating here more productive and innovative. The reliance on foreigners, due to lower costs or a perceived inability to recruit similar local talent, raises long-term social and economic concerns, and brings with it a political cost. That being said, Singapore IS a global city. We aim to be a destination of choice for tourists, visitors, and for foreign investment. If the general perception is that it's not just expensive here, but THE MOST expensive on a global basis, will it sway people's opinion when they look us up on the world map, and find the little red dot at the end of the Malaysian Peninsula? With a short history as an independent state, and our 50th anniversary post-independence approaching in 2015, perhaps it's necessary for us to do a little soul-searching, and ask ourselves what image we are comfortable projecting, both inwards and outwards. The views expressed here are entirely my own. A posto imas jeftine radnike mozes da obaras cenu. Edited March 11, 2014 by noskich
