Najtoplije preporuke, od Jon Hopkinsa (ranije ove godine) nisam cuo ovako juicy, tople synth wash-ove, sofisticirani beat, magiju koja evocira na price Heinleina, a po malo i na Blade Runner neonsko plavetnilo. Obavezno stivo za Foxx/Ultravox/Visage fanove, a ostali kako vole...

Original Ultravox frontman John Foxx has gone on to have a long and productive solo career, and this has included collaborating with Finnish electronic expert Jori Hulkkonen. Now the pair have teamed up once again, this time for a joint EP European Splendour.The British synth-pop star and Finnish synth surgeon make a magnificent pairing with the slow-motion midnight glamour of ‘Evangeline’ and the suggestively prurient penthouse electro of ‘Strictly’ offering a window to worlds we can only imagine, whilst ‘Something Is Coming Down The Avenues’ appropriates a more furtive John Carpenter atmosphere and ‘Can’t See You’ pans the bright city lights from a lonely Ballardian balcony with a yearning melancholic piano phrase and sashaying pulse. Better yet is David Lynch’s remix of ‘Evangline’; sweeping in with spine-chilling synth suspense and unloading a lip-bitingly heavy slow techno rhythm that’s equal parts Andy Stott and recent Carter Tutti where John Foxx is smudged with a druggy, dawning gauziness against sparse 50s guitar twang and keening, windswept chords.
