Kosovo offers United States a roadmap for Syria By Editorial Board, Published: June 21 IT’S BEEN 14 years since the United States, defying Russian obstruction in the U.N. Security Council, launched an air campaign to stop a tyrant’s bloody aggression in his own country. With U.S. support, the rebels of Kosovo, then a province of Serbia, were able to repel the army of Slobodan Milosevic and take control of the province. Critics warned at the time that U.S. intervention would sow chaos or empower radicals. Instead it paved the way for the democratization of Serbia, independence for a democratic Kosovo and, at last, the beginning of a reconciliation. Hashim Thaci, onetime leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army and now the country’s prime minister, was in Washington last week to talk about an accord he reached with Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic to normalize the two countries’ relations. The agreement is remarkable in both personal and political terms: Mr. Thaci was once a sworn enemy of Mr. Dacic, a close aide of Mr. Milosevic, and Serbia’s government has never acknowledged Kosovo’s independence. The agreement nevertheless calls for Serbia to accept the Kosovo government’s authority over all of his territory in exchange for extensive autonomy for areas where ethnic Serbs form a majority.

Jeff Olson, California Man, Faces 13 Years In Jail For Writing Anti-Big Bank Messages In ChalkThe Huffington Post | By Nick Wing Posted: 06/25/2013 6:38 pm EDT | Updated: 06/25/2013 7:24 pm EDTJeff Olson, a 40-year-old man from San Diego, Calif., will face jail time for charges stemming from anti-big bank messages he scrawled in water-soluble chalk outside Bank of America branches last year. The San Diego Reader reported Tuesday that a judge had decided to prohibit Olson's attorney from "mentioning the First Amendment, free speech, free expression, public forum, expressive conduct, or political speech during the trial."With that ruling, Olson must now stand trial on 13 counts of vandalism, charges that together carry a potential 13-year jail sentence and fines of up to $13,000."Oh my gosh," Olson said on his way out of court on Tuesday. "I can't believe this is happening."In an interview with San Diego's KGTV, Olson maintained that "free speech is protected" and said he "was encouraging folks to close their accounts at big Wall Street banks to transfer their money local nonprofit, community credit unions."The Reader first broke news of the case over the weekend, reporting that Olson and his partner had been active in the campaign to encourage people to move their money as early as 2011. During one protest outside of a Bank of America branch, they drew the ire of Darell Freeman, vice president of Bank of America's Global Corporate Security, who accused them of running a business with their demonstration.Olson later began showing his opposition with chalk drawings outside various Bank of America branches. Security camera footage from the banks apparently recorded his actions, and he eventually got a call from San Diego's Gang Unit in August 2012, when he gave up the artistic protests. The Reader reports that Freeman aggressively pressured city attorneys to bring charges against Olson until they announced that they would do so in April.(Click over to the Reader for more on Olson's back story.)Olson told KGTV that one of the branches had claimed it cost them $6,000 to clean up the water-soluble chalk writing.

Texas Democrats have managed to block a bill that would shut most of the abortion clinics in the state.Democratic state Senator Wendy Davis spoke for more than 10 hours, in a stalling speech known as a filibuster, at the state capitol in Austin.Republicans then scrambled to pass the bill, but the vote was ruled too late for a midnight deadline. The bill would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Dobar dan za sve koji vole da likuju kada se socijalne konzerve nerviraju.

11 hours. No food. No water. No bathroom break. No sitting. No leaning. Sen Wendy Davis still in good spirits. #SB5 pic.twitter.com/MsQKjDCNBTBNqCG7kCYAA1DHi.jpgLisa Falkenberg@ChronFalkenberg
Strict senate rules for filibusters added to the drama. According to the rules, Senator Davis was not allowed to sit down, take a restroom break, go off topic or even lean.
:pera:Za primjettiti je koliko si je GOP sigurirao provođenje volje većine tamo gdje ju imaju..

što bi neka osoba, ma kog pola ili uzrasta bila, uopšte abortirala nakon 5 meseci?
