Prospero Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 (edited) Vlasti su smislile jaaaako pametnu ideju da u javnost puste editovani transkript razgovora ovog ubice sa policijom: LORETTA LYNCH: What we're announcing tomorrow is that the FBI is releasing a partial transcript of the killer's calls with law enforcement, from inside the club. These are the calls with the Orlando PD negotiating team, who he was, where he was... that will be coming out tomorrow and I'll be headed to Orlando on Tuesday.CHUCK TODD: Including the hostage negotiation part of this?LYNCH: Yes, it will be primarily a partial transcript of his calls with the hostage negotiators.CHUCK TODD: You say partial, what's being left out?LYNCH: What we're not going to do is further proclaim this man's pledges of allegiance to terrorist groups, and further his propaganda.CHUCK TODD: We're not going to hear him talk about those things?LYNCH: We will hear him talk about some of those things, but we are not going to hear him make his assertions of allegiance and that. It will not be audio, it will be a printed transcript. But it will begin to capture the back and forth between him and the negotiators, we're trying to get as much information about this investigation out as possible. As you know, because the killer is dead, we have a bit more leeway there and we will be producing that information tomorrow. Onda su, posle potpuno neočekivanog pritska javnosti morali da puste ceo transkript koji je, očekivano, sadržavao i ovo "I let you know, I'm in Orlando and I did the shootings," Mateen told the dispatcher in the 2:35 a.m. call, according to the transcript. When the dispatcher asked for his name, Mateen replied: "My name is I pledge of allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of the Islamic State." I sad naravno će ići nova tura "Obama won't say "radical islamism"", "They're protecting islamic terrorists" etc. Edited June 21, 2016 by Prospero
3opge Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Evo sa cime se oprasta i ostavlja nas simpaticni crni predsednik: Obama to Slow Troop Withdrawal From Afghanistan U.S. to keep roughly 8,400 American troops in Afghanistan after the end of this year President Barack Obama announced 8,400 troops will remain in Afghanistan at the end of the year, reacting to the continued threat from the Taliban. The president previously planned to draw down to 5,500 troops. Photo: Reuters By CAROL E. LEE Updated July 6, 2016 11:54 a.m. ET51 COMMENTS WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama announced Wednesday that the U.S. would keep roughly 8,400 troops in Afghanistan after the end of this year, some 3,000 more than planned, in an acknowledgment of the continuing threat posed by Taliban insurgents. Mr. Obama’s decision, following weeks of deliberations inside the White House, is a shift from the plan he adopted last year to reduce the current 9,800 troops to 5,500 by January 2017. “The security situation in Afghanistan remains precarious,” Mr. Obama said in a statement from the White House. He said he chose to maintain 8,448 troops in the country because Afghan forces still aren’t as strong as the U.S. believes they need to be, while the Taliban is gaining ground in the country. “I will not allow Afghanistan to be a safe haven for terrorists to attack our nation again,” he said, saying the U.S. troops will continue to support Afghan forces to combat the Taliban and keep al Qaeda from regaining a foothold in the country. Mr. Obama made the announcement ahead of a North Atlantic Treaty Organization summit in Warsaw set to begin Friday. He said he would meet with the leaders of Afghanistan while in Warsaw. The U.S. announcement, he said, should also provide an “opportunity for more allies and partners to affirm their contributions, and I’m confident they will.” The new policy solidifies the Afghanistan strategy that will be inherited by Mr. Obama’s successor. Mr. Obama said his decision best positions the next president to craft a strategy in Afghanistan. The announcement marks a setback for Mr. Obama’s early campaign promise of completely ending the war in Afghanistan while in office. Yet he said he is confident it is “the right thing to do.” The Pentagon had argued in favor of retaining the majority of the nearly 10,000 troops in Afghanistan beyond Mr. Obama’s presidency. ENLARGE President Barack Obama, appearing with Defense Secretary Ash Carter on Wednesday, said the security situation in Afghanistan remained ‘precarious.’ PHOTO:MICHAEL REYNOLDS/EUROPEAN PRESSPHOTO AGENCY “The United States has maintained a steadfast commitment to our Afghan partners, and President Obama’s decision today is firmly in keeping with that enduring commitment,” Defense Secretary Ash Carter said, adding that he and top military advisers had recommended the troop level Mr. Obama chose. NATO allies also had pushed for a decision on troop levels in Afghanistan by the start of the summit. Some U.S. officials argued against finalizing the numbers until after allies had made their own commitments. Nearly 6,000 troops from NATO countries and other U.S. allies are in Afghanistan. The president was under pressure from some lawmakers on Capitol Hill to shift course. Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.), chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, expressed support for Mr. Obama’s decision although it falls short of his preference for maintaining the current 9,800 troops. “I welcome President Obama’s decision to reverse his previous plan to drawdown U.S. forces in Afghanistan,” Mr. McCain said. “That said, when the president himself describes the security situation in Afghanistan as ‘precarious,’ it is difficult to discern any strategic rationale for withdrawing 1,400 U.S. troops by the end of the year.” Lawmakers are expected to press the White House for a proposal on how to pay for the larger troop presence. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R., Tex.), chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, called on Mr. Obama to submit a supplemental funding request to pay for the new troop level. “For all of the bluster about funding troops in harm’s way, it is the president who proposes to extend the vital mission without any resources behind it,” Mr. Thornberry said.
