Sabirni centar?

In One Flew over the cuckoos nest (1975) Martini(Danny Devito) Was a pilot in the war, his plane was shot down and started to sink in the ocean. Whenever tension rises in the film, martini puts his feet on the chair as if the water started to rise, also as if he were still in a cockpit.

Danny DeVito plays Martini, a quiet, unpredictable patient whose behavior often seems childlike or erratic. But there’s a subtle layer beneath it: Martini is written as a former war pilot, and his physical habits hint at something deeper. During moments of tension, he lifts his feet off the ground or perches them up, movements that can be read as echoes of a cockpit, or even a subconscious response to danger, as if the “ground” isn’t safe.

The film itself swept the “Big Five” Academy Awards (Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, Screenplay), something only three films in history have achieved. Its realism came partly from filming in an actual Oregon psychiatric hospital, with real patients appearing in scenes.

Martini’s gestures may never be fully explained but that ambiguity is part of what makes the film endure.

Added fact: DeVito reprised Martini in the Broadway adaptation before the film, making it one of the few roles he carried from stage to screen nearly unchanged.

Humphrey Bogart wore platform shoes (also called shoe lifts or wooden platforms strapped to his regular shoes) during the filming of Casablanca (1942) primarily to compensate for a height difference with his co-star, Ingrid Bergman.

Bogart stood approximately 5'8" (173 cm), while his co-star Ingrid Bergman was roughly 5'9" (175 cm).

During the 1940s, the prevailing cinematic aesthetic required the male lead to appear taller than his female counterpart to maintain a specific “heroic” visual dynamic.

To bridge this gap, several techniques were used on set. Bogart wore shoes with blocks of wood or extra heavy soles attached to the bottom, adding about 3 to 5 inches to his height.

In scenes where Rick and Ilsa are seated together, Bogart often sat on extra cushions or telephone books to ensure he loomed slightly over Bergman.

For static shots, Bogart would stand on “apple boxes,” small wooden crates used by film crews to adjust the height of actors or equipment.

This was not unusual for Bogart; he was sensitive about his height and used lifts or similar methods in other films when paired with taller actresses. It also wasn’t just Bergman causing the problem.

His co-star Paul Henreid, who played Victor Laszlo, stood at about 6'4", making the height disparity even more pronounced on set.

Milena Dravić i Miloš Forman

Slika je snimljena na Kanskom festivalu 1971. godine, na kome je prikazan "W.R. Misterije organizma". Milena drži rekvizit, repliku svoje glave. Ko je gledao film zna gde je upotrebljen i kako se film završava.
