C žeton Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 The new 9 track album from David Sylvian, which is scheduled to be released September 14th, is called Manafon. It's almost certain that the following contributers will be inculded on the final cut: Keith Rowe, Sachiko Matsubara, Evan Parker, Christian Fennesz, members of Polwechsel, Otomo Yoshihide and John Tilbury.
C žeton Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 The sixth album from the charismatic six-piece Soil & "Pimp" Sessions, titled, somewhat appropriately, 6, will be out in Japan on Victor on September 16th. The album will feature 12 tracks, a couple of which have already had exclusive airings on Gilles Peterson's Worldwide show (Quartz & Chronometer and Popcorn). In something of a new departure, this album will feature some collaborations with other artists. Japanese singer Shiina Ringo appears on one track, and the band work together with DJ Kentaro on another. There is also a track featuring an as yet unnamed 'major' British singer. My money is on Jamie Cullum following the Electric Proms concerts they performed together last year, though I've been wrong many a time before. The artwork (if this picture on the band's website is in fact the artwork) is original as ever, and we only have to wait six weeks until it hits the shops.

Tickets will be on sale via Etix starting Thursday morning at 10 a.m. The show time is listed as 11:59 p.m. on Sunday. Them Crooked Vultures hehe

Sludge Factory Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 (edited) Them Crooked Vultures: Debut Album Title, Release Date Revealed?According to what appears to be a promotional poster (see here) for the debut album from Them Crooked Vultures, the new supergroup consisting of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones and Queens Of The Stone Age singer/guitarist Josh Homme, the CD — titled "Never Deserved The Future" — will be released on October 23 via Interscope. However, it should be noted that October 23 is a Friday, which is not a day when albums are traditionally made available in the U.S. (most labels release new CDs in the U.S. on Tuesdays). Them Crooked Vultures has also now set up a bare bones web site with links to pages on Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. Edited August 6, 2009 by Sludge Factory
