Italianamerican is a 1974 documentary directed by Martin Scorsese and featuring Scorsese's parents, Catherine and Charles. The Scorseses talk about their experiences as Italian immigrants in New York City among other things, while having dinner at their apartment on Elizabeth Street. Scorsese's mother also instructs how to cook her meatballs, a recipe later featured in the credits of the film. Among the subjects discussed in the film are family, religion, their origins, Italian ancestors, life in Italy after the war and the hardships of poor Sicilian immigrants in America striving to make money. Frau Minne, the Goddess who steals men’s hearts: a pictorial excursion:

Above is a painting of Frau Minne  from Southern Germany, 1320-1330 ca.
The image depicts the lover presenting Frau Minne with his heart which has been pierced by three arrows.
There are two German inscriptions with the image, the first of which translates as “Lady, send me solace, my heart has been wounded,” while the second reads as “Gracious Lady, I have surrendered.”

Frau Minne (vrouw minne) is the personification of courtly love from German Middle Ages. She is frequently addressed directly in Minnesang poetry, usually by a pining lover who is complaining about his state of spiritual suffering.

She is often referred to as the “Goddess” of romantic love, which is differentiated strongly from other kinds of love such as Christian agape as embodied in the figure of Jesus. To make the distinction clear, romantic love is understood as passion, whereas Christian and Buddhist love is understood as compassion.

Signifying UFO for some, architectural eccentricity to others, the Kihoku-cho observatory could be described in numerous ways. Takasaki Masaharu, the architect behind it, chose this remote location to cut his observatory off from the world, root it in the earth and better connect it to the stars (living up to his nickname as ‘architect of the cosmos’). As the story goes, he dreamt of an isolated but lively observatory, occupied by researchers and high quality material. Yet his dream remained unrealised. Over the years, his creation became a half-empty concrete mass, an oddity in the volcanic landscape of the Kagoshima region.
