evo jednog konkurenta apropo plesa i jos vise neverovatne pescane kreacije(!) pod vodom - japanese puffer fish:

Fascinira me koliko se malo zna o velikim dubinama, poslednja neistražena područja.

Možemo to nazvati umetnošću?

Evo clanka:

"We found that an increased body width of pufferfish (b, 167%) produced a smaller number of ditches (Figs. 5A,B), and a similar result was obtained with an increased factor of sand diffusion (f, 140%) (Fig. 5C). These results suggest that the physical traits of pufferfish may influence the geometric pattern of nest structures.

(...)

Additional information we could obtain from the simulation was the relationship between the physical status of the fish and the generated pattern. As shown in Fig. 5, at least in our simulation, larger fish or stronger fish that pushes the sand farther generated the ditch pattern with wider spacing. This result suggested that the female fish may know the body size of the male fish from the nest pattern. In some species, nest designs are regarded as extended phenotypic signals, which influence mate choice by attracting partners(iz istog clanka)

This study set out to explore the critical flow features within the geometric nests built by the pufferfish, required for understanding the nest’s habitat conditions and the significance of the topological features to engineering. This study has shown how digital photogrammetry can be used alongside historical video footage to reconstruct the nest and surrounding terrain features. CFD simulations were conducted on the 2D cross-section of the nest along the flow direction with the maximum dimension, to assess the effect of the nest’s topographic features (such as valleys and ridges), on the flow field. The investigation of pufferfish nest has shown that:
  • The topology of the nest contributes to the reduction of flow velocity and formation of a recirculation zone within the nest site that ensures eggs are protected from adverse velocity fluctuations, improved aeration and additionally act as a barrier blocking transport of foreign particles into the nest;
  • The previously observed behavior of male pufferfish decorating peaks with shell fragments ensures a resilient structure through improved shear strength in regions of high shear stress;
  • Lower shear stress is seen within the central zone of the nest, ensuring a stable bed surface for spawning of eggs.

Primenjena umetnost?

Pridruzujem cesticu opstem odusevljenju mantama. Gledao ih u plicaku kako viluju tamoamo.
