Garnirung Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Juče mi je ionako privatno bio sjeban dan i misleći kako će bar trka da me oraspoloži, odem na sajt i još više popizdim. Evo i nešto u čast trenutne žute majice The Nibali you didn’t know by Ciro Scognamiglio in Mulhouse We really ought to know everything about Vincenzo Nibali by now. But that’s not the case. There are reaches of the Sicilian’s character that are still unknown to die-hard fans, even though he turned professional way back in 2005 and has now been among the best riders in the world for several years. Did you know, for example, that Vincenzo has a remarkable knack for inventing new words and expressions? ‘Radish bends’ (curve a radicchio in Italian) and ‘Pinocchioed legs’ (gambe impinocchiate) are among the favourite idioms of the Astana leader, who hopes to become only the second Italian after Felice Gimondi to achieve cycling’s ‘triple crown’ – victories in the Giro, Vuelta and Tour. ‘Radish bends”’ take their name from the diminutive root vegetable particularly popular in the Veneto region of north-east Italy: since they grow from the ground, ‘radish bends’ are those corners where a rider skims the road surface or, worse, ends up on his backside. It seems that the expression was invented by Marzio Bruseghin, the ex-Lampre and Banesto stalwart turned donkey breeder, but it is now set to enter the common Italian cycling lexicon thanks to Nibali. ‘Pinocchioed legs’ are one of Nibali’s newer inventions: the inspiration here, obviously, comes from Pinocchio, the wooden puppet famous for his long nose and penchant for telling lies. When a bike racer has ‘Pinocchioed legs’, it’s another way of saying that his muscles feel wooden or stiff. Over the past few days, more than one journalist in the Tour press room has rolled their eyes at Nibali’s sometimes clichéd, often repetitive responses. Little do they know that he’s also prone to pull out the odd stroke of linguistic genius. Some would also be surprised to discover that Nibali the cyclist is quite different from Nibali the man. When he’s not racing, Vincenzo can seem completely disengaged from cycling. He appears to zone out almost the moment he crosses the finish-line. At the 2012 Tour, he even went for an hour-long siesta before his start-time in the Besançon time trial. Can you imagine – forty winks moments before taking on Froome and Wiggins?! But with a race number on his back, Nibali is transformed. He’s a formidable competitor who struggles to contain his anger in defeat. Unlike many other top riders, he loathes finishing well down the field, even at races where his declared objective is to train for more important goals. In fact, if you look closely at his results, Nibali almost never allows this to happen. At Milan-Sanremo this year, he knew that he didn’t have the form to win, but he attacked even so. For him it was about putting on a show, for the fans. He sees himself as an entertainer, a professional showman. Nibali now lives in Switzerland with his wife, Rachele, and their newborn daughter, Emma Vittoria. For many years he resided in Tuscany, but his parents have stayed in Messina, Sicily, where they own and run a video rental store. Until now, unlike many of his contemporaries, Vincenzo has never been seriously implicated in doping scandals and it’s often said that his robust morals owe to his family values and upbringing. Those who know him and his parents well say that his father, Salvatore, waved him off into the pro peloton with a message along these lines: “Enzo [how he’s known at home], I’m happy that you’re going to be a cyclist because it was your dream. You might win or lose, but the only thing you must never do is cheat. Because, if you do, you can forget about ever coming back to Sicily.”

sekretar Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 (edited) Odustao i Talansky ups, sada je ipak nastavio Edited July 16, 2014 by sekretar
Talanski stigao :) Edited July 16, 2014 by malkin
freakns Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Talansky me odusevio sa ovim danas... covek je celu trasu maltene sam odvezao... zarko mu zelim jednu pobedu u nastavku :)
