Eusébio, Portugal's footballing hero, dies at 71Eusébio, the outstanding figure of Portuguese football before the emergence of Cristiano Ronaldo, had died aged 71.The Portuguese sports daily A'Bola said Eusébio had died of a cardiac arrest in the early hours of Sunday morning, Reuters reported. And a spokesman for Benfica told Press Association Sport: "We have just received confirmation of the death of Eusebio. It's a very sad day for all of us."

Shakhtar Donetsk striker Maicon has been killed in a car crash, the Ukrainian club have announced.The 25-year-old Brazilian was involved in an accident in the city of Donetsk on Saturday morning. No further details of the crash have been revealed."FC Shakhtar regretfully informs that on February 8, 2014 the life of a footballer Maicon Pereira de Oliveira tragically ended. He died in a car crash in Donetsk," a club statement read."He was a talented footballer, an open and friendly guy. Maicon loved life and knew how to make it positive and bright."(His) tragic, untimely and absurd death took away a wonderful person from our ranks. Maicon was only 25 years old."It is a terrible bereavement for each of us. FC Shakhtar expresses condolences and sympathy to Maicon's family and friends. May he rest in peace."After playing in the youth ranks at both Fluminense and Flamengo in his homeland, Maicon came to prominence after moving to Ukraine in 2009 to join Volyn Lutsk, for whom he scored 37 goals in 65 appearances.He also scored three goals in eight games on loan at Romanian side Steaua Bucharest, before sealing a move to Ukrainian champions Shakhtar in 2012.Maicon found his opportunities limited in Donetsk, however, and at the time of his death was on a season-long loan at fellow Ukrainian outfit Illichivets Mariupol.

Alfredo Di Stéfano dies at the age of 88\

 

 

Alfredo Di Stéfano, probably the greatest player in Real Madrid’s history, has died at the age of 88.

“Real Madrid announce that its honorary president, Alfredo Di Stéfano, died today at the Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón in Madrid,” confirmed a club statement. “The president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, and the club board would like to express its deepest condolences and all their love and affection to their children, their families and friends. Real Madrid extends condolences to those Madridistas around the world and those who feel emotion at the loss of the best player of all time.”

U splitskoj bolnici noćas u 02:45 sati preminuo je Vladimir Beara.

 

Informaciju o smrti velikana Hajduka potvrdili su iz kruga njegove obitelji te iz splitske bolnice, točnije na Klinici plućne za bolesti, gdje je bio hospitaliziran, javlja Slobodna Dalmacija.

rip ivanu ivancicu, clanu velike cetvorke bacaca kugle ex yu (uz vladimira milica, zlatana saracevica i vojina lazarevica). plenio je imidzom (vidi sliku desno), a ja sam se poslednjih decenija pitao sta je sa njim, misleci da je iz beograda.

tek sam sad saznao da je on zapravo iz hrvatske i da je bacao kuglu do svoje 50 godine i onda odustao, jer nije mogao vise preko 20 m :0.6: .

trenirao je i ivanu brkljacic i sandru perkovic.
