Indy Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 ja sam izgleda crna ovca. svaka cast Bouviju na povratku, al' album nije nista posebno, najblaze receno.Mislim da je ovo vrlo realan osvrt na album (starija gospodja 'streetmouse' sa rateyourmusic.com, inace je dala ovom albumu 3.5 zvezdice, a ja 4)The Next Day sees Bowie not as urgent, nor sharp edged, and hardly beautiful or enigmatic. Bowie has become his long time idol, William Burroughs ... reclusive, distant, commenting on his past, the times he lives in, while filled with an obsessive wonder for his place amidst and within the chaotic world he finds himself, and a continual fear for what may actually lie on the other side of the mirror he’s been holding for so long. Each track from The Next Day is filled with visions he’s presented before, and far better, leading me to suggest that like the album’s cover, he’s purposely superimposed new imaging on top of old ones for a pointed reason ... though “Why?” is the question I’m faced with . A couple of examples: The title track is ripped right from “Fashion,” though delivered in a style more suited for Sonic Youth, while the album’s apex “You Feel So Lonely You Could Die,” could stand as a bookend to “Rock ‘n Roll Suicide,” from Ziggy Stardust. Then there’s his obsession with the Berlin years, where he delivers half forgotten nostalgia on “Where Are We Now,” while his perplexing “The Stars [Are Out Tonight]” shadows the Thin White Duke’s longtime struggle with fame and the famous. At other times I hear memories of “Look Back In Anger” and “Cat People,” all songs of self-exploration and contemplation endlessly gone awry for Mr. Bowie ... leading me to the conclusion that here on The Next Day, Bowie is asking the same questions he’s always asked, just rephrasing them through the same eyes that are living in different times.
