noskich Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 Izuzetno zanimljiva Mercerova 2014 lista troskova zivota.
Edited November 12, 2014 by noskich
noskich Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 "If you look deeply at a flower, at its freshness and its beauty, you will see that there is also compost in it, made of garbage. The gardener had the skill to transform this garbage into compost, and with this compost, he made a flower grow. Flowers and garbage are both organic in nature. So looking deeply into the nature of a flower, you can see the presence of the compost and the garbage. The flower is also going to turn into garbage; but don’t be afraid! You are a gardener, and you have in your hands the power to transform garbage into flowers, into fruit, into vegetables. You don’t throw anything away, because you are not afraid of garbage. Your hands are capable of transforming it into flowers, or lettuce, or cucumbers. The same thing is true of your happiness and your sorrow. Sorrow, fear, and depression are all a kind of garbage. These bits of garbage are part of real life, and we must look deeply into their nature. You can practice in order to turn these bits of garbage into flowers. It is not only your love that is organic; your hate is, too. So you should not throw anything out. All you have to do is learn how to transform your garbage into flowers. " - Thich Nhat Hanh
noskich Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 (edited) I believe that the very future of life on Earth depends on those of us who are privileged to live more simply. To live simply is to be compassionate to yourself and to the world. A life full of material goods and barren of compassion is quite unsustainable from an ecological and karmic point of view. Of course, advertisements are always telling us that the path to happiness lies in purchasing the goods they sell. How is it that the advertising convinces us even when we are skeptical of its message? Our attachment to our own happiness, possessions, family, and self creates a lack of perspective that makes us susceptible. However, if we can be mindful of the emptiness of self, we can create a space for choice rather than habitual consumerism. We don't have to live a life that is sold to us—we can make the brave choice to live simply. (from: “Gyalwang Karmapa: Talk at 23rd Mind & Life conference – Ecology, Ethics &Interdependence”,http://www.ecobuddhism.org/wisdom/interviews/hhk2011 Greed Makes Us Unhappy - We all want to be happy, but generally we lack a clear idea of where real happiness comes from. The commercials communicate certain ideas about what we need in order to feel happy. When we are repeatedly exposed to these images and ideas, they begin to form a kind of mental habit. We start feeling that what was advertised could be the key to our happiness, and so of course we want to own it. We end up telling ourselves, “I should have one of those motorcycles! I should go around in style! I want to be successful and happy, too!” Over time, we develop a habit of longing for what we do not have. Without our noticing where it came from, this habitual desire creeps up on us and evolves into greed. Like other habits, greed develops gradually. We do not stop to check this growing habit in its early stages, because for the most part our cultures encourage us to give ourselves over to greed. The more deeply ingrained our habit of greed, the more deeply we fall under its sway – and the more “natural” it seems. Once entrenched, the habit of greed keeps us feeling needy, and forever on the lookout for things we lack. In short, greed makes us unhappy. 17th Karmapa from the book "The Heart Is Noble: Changing the World from the Inside Out" Edited November 15, 2014 by noskich

Edited November 17, 2014 by noskich

Vidjao sam i ostrige, kozji sir, losos i ostale skupe stvari. Jedino sam belu tehniku i kuhinjske instrumente kupio nove. Edited November 17, 2014 by noskich
