I always did blood tests before, and I will do them in the future, but today I was not able to provide blood sample."неће бити да је страх од игле био разлог

Čutura Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) jedan odlican komentar sa tennis.com chris ford 12 minutes ago Time to get off Djokovic as a focus on the testing controversy and just go with he stated his opinions, and it is time to now just pull back and look at the big picture. With the CAS verdict in, we know there has been damage to Troicki, to the ITF's program and players trust in it, the doctors reputation, and damage to the ATP as either an organization of players that serves the players and their issues well - or an association with a patsy union that has sold out to the boardrooms. I thought of another massive organizational debacle brought on by idiots that got over-invested in rules above common sense, and compare it to the ITF. Forgive me if it is a little longish: ============================ The situation in a way reminds me of the Belorussian shoot down of a manned hot air balloon in 1995, that killed two Americans. The sponsors and tennis execs were alarmed after the cycling doping scandals and not only wanted testing, but someone they could really nail to the cross as a dirty player that showed tennis was testing and vigorously punishing the worst sort of athlete. The Belorussians, after the breakup of the Soviet Union, were having fits about arrogant NGOS, Russian and Polish aircraft routinely violating their sovereignity, The infuriated leadership issued warned the usual transgressors and informed them shootdown orders were now in effect. With Troicki, you had a headcase player. Who had royally ticked off ATP and ITF corporate people with his on court emotional meltdowns and unprofessional behavior. Who instead of thinking through the importance of getting the test done once his panic attack was over, though it a valid excuse to avoid the test altogether if ITF accepted the letter he and the doctor drafted wanting the waiver. The Tournament Director at Monte Carlo had actually done a fine job resolving the mess in a way no party would be harmed and the ITF would have avoided a bad situation for itself. . He found both Troicki and the doctor confused on the rules and what had to happen when a player suffering from a medically accepted, documented psychological condition lost self-control. And the ITF testing office only had a FAX number, which was never replied to when the letter Troicki wrote with the doctor's help was fax'd. The next morning, the Director found Troicki was over his panic attack and could give blood. The doctor was contacted and agreed it was a great solution if ITF accepted the test done then. They did. Troicki then received written notice he passed. It should have been over then, except notice ITF had a dead phone and the clean athlete, doctor, coach, and Director were all confused on medical waiver of "The Rule". In Belorussia in 1995, with the shootdown order in place, the Americans who were part of a ballooon race crossed into Belorussia without obtaining permission, a very serious rules violation. The military commander, enforcing the rules, did not bother to check if it was an occupied balloon or think through ramifications if it was. He declared rules are rules that must be enforced - , so he had a military aircraft hose the balloon with exploding incendiary rounds and sent it down in a ball of flames. And the commander contacted Minsk and said a stern message had been successfully been delivered to all "sovereignity violators". Per rigid enforcement of the rules. At the ITF, one or two high ranking execs, depite KNOWING Troicki was clean, and had been cleared to play by the ITF itself for over a month, decided to do a 180 and select Troicki as an example to others. Burn him as a guy they already detested and present him as proof tennis was punishing "Violators" to the max. They blew a resolved matter to pieces. The Belorussian military who acted - quickly found themselves mercilessly mocked as stupid butchers who had killed two guys in hot air balloon as a mighty menace to Belorussia. They were savaged by the rest of the world and even by graffitti of their own citizens as embarassments. Idiot blind rules at any cost - fools. After the ITF had their whipping boy set as an example to all other players to stay clean or else... the blowback started coming in "but the guy you are nailing to the cross is a clean athlete, not dirty.". No matter, ITF said, he deserved his destruction as a player because he violated a rule. "A rule everyone seems confused about enough lawyers are recommending changes, 3rd party witnesses, and questioning if allowance was ever considered for a patient with a documented medical malady that put compliance outside his self control." Now as time has passed, it has only gotten worse because they targeted and shot down Troicki. Harmless nutty Viktor. Players are questioning the fairness of the Cilic and Troicki cases and worried their careers could also be destroyed by an ITF exec lynchmob. Djokovic waded in with both barrels firing, impugning the truthfulness and integrity of the doctor, the whole testing regime, and slamming the ATP and players union reps for their refusal to involve themselves in ensuring two accused fellow players were treated fairly and got due process. Then the ITF President raged back at Djokovic about him tainting the testing system's reputation and that of a "valued employee" (apparantly more valued than the players targeted.) The ATP is so freaked out by Djoker's hammering everyone inc. ATP execs and union reps, with news of Cilics innocence, other players piling on the ATP aren't running news of this and disabling comment on their website. This is something the ITF did to itself....selected a clean athlete to be their "special example" of what happens to dirty athletes..in a matter the Tour Director had adroitly resolved before 1, 2 ITF execs at the top went into the idiocy levels of the Belorussian commander. It isn't really a matter of Nole or Feds opinion, or Troickis pain, or the doctors rep. It is determining who the cretins at ITF were that took a resolved matter and reached in a month later for vengence on an irritating headcase and to satiate their hunger for a "dirty player to do some medieval example-setting on". Leaving results as bad as "deadly balloon shards and burned corpses" while the world laughed. Any head roll, it should be the ITF execs that waded in to do the "shootdown" over a month after the testing incident had resolved into clean tests and everyones repuation and jobs OK - besides needed notice to ITF of a dead phone their program said would get them a person final word on a rules matter, that everyone was confused on a psychological problem and if it warranted a testing exception..
