Luka Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 (edited) pardon, ovo je sa saveta bezbednostireutersjos nema zvanicnog saopstenja..+nadjoh ovo UN draft resolution speaks of Libyan 'crimes against humanity'Ban Ki-moon urges UN Security Council to adopt draft resolution and act quickly on a proposed package of UN sanctions intended to curb Libyan leaders' violent crackdown.By Reuters Tags: Israel news UN LibyaThe attacks against Libyan civilians may be "crimes against humanity" warranting prosecution by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, according to a draft UN sanctions resolution. The text, drafted by France and Britain and circulated to other members of the UN Security Council on Friday, also calls for an arms embargo against Libya as well as travel bans and asset freezes for the country's top leaders. The six-page draft, which was obtained by Reuters, says that "the widespread and systematic attacks currently taking place in Libya against the civilian population may amount to crimes against humanity."By some estimates thousands of Libyans have been killed in recent days in clashes between forces loyal to longtime leader Muammar Gadhafi and anti-government protesters. The 15-nation council has only referred one other case to the ICC – the conflict in Sudan's western Darfur region.Without mentioning Gadhafi by name, the draft resolution also calls on the "Libyan authorities" to immediately end the violence.A vote on the draft resolution, which will be amended during closed-door negotiations, is not expected on Friday, council diplomats told Reuters.UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged the Security Council to act quickly on a proposed package of UN sanctions aimed at forcing Libyan leaders to end their violent crackdown in the country."It is time for the Security Council to consider concrete action," Ban told the 15-nation council.
