    When police intervened, the two men aged 40 and 30 called other foreigners in the area to their aid, and assaulted and threatened the arresting officers. After they were taken to the police station, they continued to speak out against law enforcement and Europe in both Arabic and Italian. They were charged with resisting and threatening an officer and instigation to commit a crime with intent to commit terrorist acts, slapped with an expulsion order, and taken to a migrant reception center in the southern city of Bari prior to repatriation.

Muslims protect Christians from extremists in Kenya bus attack

 

There was a sound of gunfire, and the impact of bullets striking steel, and the bus suddenly lurched to a stop just outside the northeastern Kenyan city of El Wak.

More than 10 Somali militants clambered on board, heavily armed, witnesses of the Monday attack told the Daily Nation, a Kenyan newspaper. The gunmen began shouting demands at the passengers, ordering them to get off the bus and separate into groups — Muslims on one side, everyone else on the other.

But Muslims aboard the bus traveling through northeastern Kenya helped protect the Christian passengers, witnesses and officials told numerous media outlets.

Two people died and at least three were injured during the attack on the bus and a truck, confirmed Mandera County Gov. Ali Roba, who described it as an act of terrorism.

A Kenyan security official, Mohamud Saleh, said al-Shabab rebels are thought to be responsible, the Associated Press reported. A spokesman for the Somalia-based Islamist militant group told Reuters that fighters shot at the bus and “some of the Christian enemies died and others were injured.”

Officials and witnesses said militants stopped the bus, asked passengers to identify their religion, and then attempted to separate them.

It has happened before. In November 2014, al-Shabab gunmen attacked a bus full of teachers in the same region, pulling 28 non-Muslim passengers from the vehicle and shooting them point blank, according to the Guardian. The following month, the BBC reported, the militant group did the same to non-Muslim workers at a quarry near the Somali border. The group has also indiscriminately killed both Muslims and non-Muslims during deadly attacks in Kenya, as it did in the April siege of Garissa University, in the country’s east, that left 147 people dead.

But not this time. Militants told passengers to get off the bus, “demanding that Muslims separate from Christians, but they refused,” the Interior Ministry said in a statement, according to Agence France-Presse.

“These Muslims sent a very important message of the unity of purpose, that we are all Kenyans and that we are not separated by religion,” Interior Minister Joseph Nkaissery told local media at a briefing. “Everybody can profess their own religion, but we are still one country and one people.”

The suspect, Gary Nathaniel Moore, 37, of Houston, appeared in court at 7 a.m., spokeswoman Nicole Strong said.

 

 

 

According to a charging instrument released by the Harris County District Clerk, Moore told investigators at the scene that he has attended the mosque for five years, coming five times per day to pray seven days per week.

 

Moore told investigators he had been at the mosque earlier on Dec. 25 to pray, and had left at about 2 p.m. to go home. Moore told investigators he was the last person to leave the mosque and saw no smoke or other signs of fire when he left. He had returned to the scene after hearing about the fire from a friend.

Suicide vests armed with bombs fortified with ball bearings and metal sticks were seized during a raid on a house in a low-income neighbourhood of Ankara where two Turkish nationals were arrested on Wednesday morning - the day before New Year's Eve.

Palestinian security forces arrested Wednesday about a dozen suspected radical Islamists in Bethlehem.

Hasan Edmonds, 23, of Aurora, Illinois, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to provide material support to ISIS and one count of attempting to provide material support to the same organisation.

Егзекуција угледног шиитског свештеника подигла тензију у ионако веома заоштреним односима Саудијске Арабије и Ирана, а из Техеран се прети „божанском осветом”

Када је пре пола године на званичном сајту саудијских власти објављен оглас у коме Министарство за јавне послове тражи осам „верских функционера” који би, без претходног искуства и с платом нижом од просечне, постали џелати, било је тешко претпоставити да ће њихово ново запослење опасно продубити тензије између сунита и шиита.

Пошто је арабијска краљевина, бастион сунитског ислама, прошле године забележила рекордан број од 157 егзекуција, ову је започела смртним казнама над 47 особа, већином оптужених за тероризам Ал Каиде, али и четворице шиита осуђених због подстицања побуне против владајуће куће Сауда, укључујући и познатог шиитског свештеника Нимр ал Нимра.

Погубљење је додатно заоштрило већ запаљиве односе Ирана и Саудијске Арабије, држава које су представљајући шиизам, односно сунизам, постали велики регионални ривали чији се интереси сукобљавају на широком потезу од Ирака, Сирије, Либана или Јемена.

Масовном егзекуцијом у 12 саудијских градова, првим колективним смакнућем од времена када је група исламских милитаната погубљена због опсаде Велике џамије у Меки 1979, двор у Ријаду послао је поруку да ће неће толерисати сунитски тероризам, али и да ће се одлучно супротставити шиитима са истока краљевине који прете дестабилизацији земље.

Порука је међутим прочитана као директна претња иранском режиму. Из Техерана је одмах стигло упозорење да ће саудијске власти те„шко зажалити” због погубљења Ал Нимра. Док врховни вођа, ајатолах Али Хамнеи, шаље поруке о бо„жанској освети”, демонстранти су упали у саудијску амбасаду.

Убрзо је експлодирао читав ши„итски полумесец” уверен да Ријад намерно подстиче секташки сукоб. Вођа либански шиитских Хезболаха Сајед Хасан Насралах сматра да је смртна казна над Ал Нимром по„рука крви”.

Шефови дипломатија две земље Адел ал Џубеир и Мохамад Џавад Зариф изјавили су да њихове земље нису заинтересоване за даљу ескалацију сукоба ? потврдио је аустријски министар иностраних послова Себастијан Курц који их је контактирао.

Масовна егзекуција не само што је заоштрила деликатни баланс сунита и шиита, већ је покренула и светске осуде егзекуције 47 особа по четири саудијска затвора, неке стрељањем, друге одрубљивањем глава.

У држави строге вехабистичке интерпретације вере, у којој је Куран устав, број погубљених људи 2015. је највећи од 1995. када су забележене 192 егзекуције, и далеко више од просека последњих година који је ретко премашивао бројку од 90 смакнућа.

Власти не објашњавају шта стоји иза таласа погубљења. Једни ову епи„демију” везују за смрт краља Абдулаха прошлог јануара и долазак на престо краља Салмана који би желео да остави снажан лични печат на збивања у земљи. Други сматрају да је смањење прихода од нафте довело до раста сиромаштва пропраћеног већом употребом дроге, што повлачи смртну казну.

Неки подсећају да саудијским властима прете Исламска држава и Ал Каида, а да двор у Ријаду највећу опасност види у шиитском Ирану, што све појачава безбедносну кампању, а тиме и раст смртних пресуда.

 

 

Позив на „љутите демонстрације”

Духовни вођа ирачких шиита, велики ајатолах Али ал Систани, придружио се смакнућима шиита који су осуђени јер су се у источном граду Авамије, важном за саудијску индустрију нафте, прошле године побунили против сунитских владара. Још један од шиитских лидера у Ираку, Моктада ал Садр, сазвао је за јуче љу„тите демонстрације” у шиитском светом граду Наџафу.

Како димензије заоштравања прете додатном дестабилизацијом Блиског истока, који од интервенција по Ираку и Сирији све озбиљније пуца по шавовима сукоба два велика огранка ислама, званичници у Ријаду и Техерану покушавају да смире страсти.

 

 

Пракса капиталне казне поново се последњих месеци нашла на мети критичара који подсећају да одсецање глава неодољиво подсећа на праксу ИД, али званичници то одбацују. Оно? што ми радимо у Саудијској Арабији је спровођење одлуке суда”, каже генерал Мансур ал Турки, портпарол Министарства унутрашњих послова. Ег„зекуција је одлука. Није заснована на арбитрарним изборима, овога убити, овога не убити”.

Активистима за људска права ово не делује као убедљиво објашњење. Посебно су забринути због природе злочина који повлаче смртну казну. Сва„ка егзекуција је ужасна, али егзекуције због кријумчарења дроге или враџбина ? које не изазивају губитак живота ? су нечувене”, сматрају у блискоисточном уреду Хјуман рајтс воча.

Током 2014. само две земље забележиле су више погубљења од Саудијске Арабије: Кина (најмање 2.400) и Иран (близу 700).

Масовне егзекуције у суботу извршене су у 12 градова: у четири затвора стрељањем а у осталим одрубљивањем глава. Власти кажу да се ради о терористима Ал Каиде и шиитима који су осуђени јер су се у источном граду Авамије, важном за саудијску индустрију нафте, побунили против сунитских владара. Очи„то је да саудијске власти користе тероризам као изговор за решавање других политичких проблема”, сматра Џејмс Линч, функционер Амнести Интернешнела за Блиски исток и северну Африку, сумњајући у фер судске процесе.

Управо ова последња замерка односи се на неке од 47 осуђених. Ради се о припадницима шиитске мањине који захтевају већа права. Њихов духовни вођа је недавно осуђен на смртну казну, а тројица у ре„ду смрти” били су малолетни када су ухапшени.

Погубљења ће додатно заоштрити ионако експлозивне односе Саудијске Арабије и Ирана, лидера сунитског, односно шиитског света. Високи ирански свештеник изјавио је да ће владајућа саудијска породица Сауда бити из„брисана са страница историје”, а још се нису смириле страсти после погибије 465 иранских ходочасника у Меки током хаџилука у септембру.

Питање смртне казне по правилу на одговорност позива и Сједињене Државе којима је најближи арапски савезник земља која је дуго спонзорисала Ал Каиду, чији су држављани чинили већину починилаца напада на САД 11. септембра 2001, која користи забрањене касетне бомбе у операцијама у Јемену, чији су чланови краљевске породице ухваћени у продаји дрога или хотелским крађама по иностранству.

Вашингтон о томе симптоматично деценијама ћути задовољан што по повољним аранжманима купује саудијску нафту а краљевини продаје оружје у вредности од више десетина милијарди долара. Док се прелази и преко чињенице да Саудијци по Сирији наоружавају разне радикалне сунитске исламистичке групе, Американци су обезбедили да Саудијац буде на челу Комисије УН за људска права.

Just five arrests have been made by German police after central Cologne was transformed into a war-zone on New Year’s Eve, as an estimated 1,000 migrants celebrated by launching fireworks into crowds and sexually assaulting German women caught up in the chaos.

    The sordid details of the horrifying sexual assaults and attacks made against ordinary Germans by large gangs of migrants in Cologne in the early hours of Friday morning are just now emerging.

 

    Far from a small number of sex assaults reported to have been made by German speaking men in initial reports on New Year’s Day, dozens of women are now reported to have been molested and “raped”, while dozens more men have been assaulted and robbed.

    One victim, 28 year old ‘Katja L’ spoke of her ordeal as she tried to make her way to the waiting room of Cologne railway station with two other girls and a boyfriend in the early hours of new year’s day. She told Der Express – one of the largest regional newspapers: “When we came out of the station, we were very surprised by the group that met us there”. She said the group was “exclusively young foreign men”. Keeping close to her friends, they pressed on:

 

    “We then walked through this group of men. There was an alley through [the men] which we walked through. Suddenly I felt a hand on my buttocks, then on my breasts, in the end, I was groped everywhere. It was a nightmare. Although we shouted and beat them, the guys did not stop. I was desperate and think I was touched around 100 times in the 200 meters.

    “Fortunately I wore a jacket and trousers. a skirt would probably have been torn away from me”.

 

    As Katja L and other witnesses who have since come forward said, as they were molested by the gang the men were laughing and pulling their hair, and there were shouts of “ficki, ficki” (fucky fucky) hurled at them as they were called “sluts”. Treating her as “fair game”, there had been so many men groping at her Katja L said she would be unable to positively identify any of the perpetrators to the police.
    Others were less lucky. One woman had her tights and underwear torn off by the crowd, and a police source quoted said there had been “rapes” at the station that night.

 

    So far, police have identified 80 victims of the gangs, 35 of which were subjected to sex attacks. Others were assaulted or robbed. Officers suspect there are many more as of yet unreported cases from the night, and are appealing for victims to come forward after their ordeals.

    A press conference hosted by Cologne’s chief of police Wolfgang Albers this afternoon confirmed the attacks had been perpetrated by migrants, all of whom were found to be carrying official immigration paperwork by police officers at the time. Mr. Albers said “the crimes have been committed by a group of people who mostly come from her in appearance from the North African and Arab countries”, and that he found the situation “intolerable”.

 

    In addition to the sex attacks, there were several brawls between migrant gangs at the railway station, and large numbers of fireworks were fired into the crowds and at the hapless police. A witness said: “There were thousands of men. Simply firing into the crowd, and as my girlfriend and I wanted to get us to safety, but they blocked our way. We were so scared! We fled from the station”.

    Despite dozens of men and women having been attacked, the area being comprehensively monitored by CCTV, and having thousands of potential suspects, Cologne police have arrested just five men so far in relation to the new year’s eve attacks.

 

    The police chief may yet have serious questions to answer on the attacks, which follow a year of record breaking migration, after it emerged that just ten officers were dispatched to the station after the report of a gang sex assault in the early hours of the morning, and unverified accusations started to circulate on-line of officers even ridiculing a victim for not having been vigilant enough to avoid being attacked. Breitbart London has approached Cologne police for comment.

    The police union said of the incidents: “This is a completely new dimension of violence. This is something we have not known”.

 

    Before the New Year some German towns cancelled fireworks displays for fear of upsetting migrants who would associate the loud noises with the sounds of a war zone.
