Contraction is the process of taking two free morphemes and making one bound in order to create one morpheme. In short: two words are joined into one. To the native English speaker, contracted and non-contracted forms are semantically equivalent. 1 1 1 Quote Link to comment
LaLinea
May 28 by LaLinea 1 Quote Link to comment
ToniAdams
vljd valkira bolje zna Contracted words count as the number of words they would be if they were not contracted. For example, isn't, didn't, I'm, I'll are counted as two words (replacing is not, did not, I am, I will). Where the contraction replaces one word (e.g. can't for cannot), it is counted as one word. izvor https://www.cambridgeenglish.org/images/248530-cambridge-english-proficiency-faqs.pdf stize zadatja Edited May 28 by ToniAdams 1 Quote Link to comment
