Like its subject, this one's a vapid, repulsively attractive, tragicomic-but-powerful spoof of party culture. Matsumi Kanamori screams a series of cautionary, panicked "Wassup!"s (think Chicken Little-- wait, maybe she's saying "ba-gock!" or "look out!"). Sirens wail for a measure, and then in her slimiest zombie-cheerleader voice, Kanamori peeps: "Shake your body body/ Move your body body/ Jump your body body/ Shake your body body/ Paris Hilton/ I'm the richest party [unintelligible]/ Would you like to look at my sex tape/ Natural beauty, photogenic/ Always ready to [much that is unintelligible] silver spoon [much that is unintelligible]."For music, you get a grey-ghost-of-techno pulse, and a barn full of percussion is thrown at you, somewhat indiscriminately: artificial claps, orchestra hits, live hand-drums, etc. The underbelly groove of the song's final minute has to cope with the high percussion panning from left to right. In other words, those intentionally bad remixes of The Dead Milkmen's "You'll Dance to Anything" have come full circle through the culture-hole. Mu's funny-cool, ready-to-party-in-the-dumpsters-of-the-future approach remains just short of awesome, but we can hope that Ms. Hilton, (who is reportedly on the verge of franchising herself as a pop musician) will be moved to respond, kicking off a diva-beef for the fashion-trash crown, which Mu would win, and then microwave
