The Slovenian Government has announced that starting from August 23, all persons who transit through the latter’s territory need to hold a COVID-19 Pass.

Consequently, this means that all travellers who intend to use Slovenia as a transit country will soon need to present a vaccination certificate, proof of recovery from the virus, or a negative COVID-19 test result.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior of Slovenia, the exemption rules that previously applied to those transiting through Lithuania will remain in place until August 22 and will only apply to those who do not have a permanent residence permit, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

As such, based on the newly made announcement, persons who have been vaccinated, recovered, or tested negative against the virus will be able to enter Slovenia without having to follow a ten-day quarantine requirement, provided that they do not stay in its territory for more than 12 hours.

“Only persons who fulfil the recovered, vaccinated, tested (RVT) condition will be able to enter Slovenia without being ordered a 10-day quarantine at home. The adequate RVT proof is stipulated in the Ordinance on temporary measures to reduce the risk of infection and spread of COVID-19,” the Ministry’s statement reads.

Nonetheless, certain exemptions will still continue to apply. According to the same Ministry, the following groups of persons are allowed to transit through Slovenia without having to follow quarantine obligation or present proof of vaccination, recovery, or a negative test result:

  • Persons who carry out important duties in the international transport sector and who leave Slovenia within 12 hours after crossing the border
  • Children under 15 who cross the border together with a family member who has not been advised to follow quarantine rules and has not been refused entry to Slovenia; or who crosses the border in an organised group escorted by a teacher or caregiver
  • Persons who own or have leased land in the border area and who cross the state border with a neighbouring country for the purpose of carrying out agricultural and forestry work and who return to Slovenia within ten hours of crossing the border
  • Cross-border workers who work in an EU Member State or a Schengen Area country, who reside within 10 kilometres aerial distance and who return within five days of crossing the border

Previously, the Slovenian Ministry of Interior announced that since August 16, passengers travelling by plane and ship would be required to fill out a Passenger Locator Form in order to make it easier for the authorities to trace persons who enter the country.

Jel priznaju Rumuni sinofarm..
