Ne secam se da je bilo posebnog topika o muzici alternativnog kabarea, mracnog, politicki angazovanog, izgubljenog izmedju zanrova. O Brechtu i Weilu, The Tiger Liliies, Dresden Dolls, Amandi Palmer, Waitsu i ostalima iz tog kutka nemoderne muzike. 

 

Za pocetak, standard "Youkali". Muziku - Tango Habanera - napisao je Weil 1934. Prezarazna melodija koja trenutno teleportuje u neki drugaciji svet - u taj mitski Youkali. Reci je dodao francuz Roger Fernay 1946. Pesma govori o utopijskom ostrvu, izgubljenom raju, "zemlji nasih ceznji, srece i zadovoljstva". Kontekst tog sna o lepsem svetu u poratnim godinama je ocigledan.

 

Kultna verzija je ona koju je otpevala kanadski sopran Tereza Stratas.

Tragic Tantrum

 

"Our band blends the fuck-it-and-just-play mentality of punk with the theatrics of cabaret," says Tragic Tantrum cabaret-singer/guitarist Zephyrus Rex. The performance-art duo composes songs around a melodica and a toy xylophone. "There's a lot of unexplored territory there. With punk music, you can perform and entertain and deliver a message whether or not you have a wealth of musical know-how. In a way, it's sort of an underground music for the people, though not necessarily music for the masses."

 

"I think there's also an element of circus to our act," says singer/lyricist zOe. "There's something about painting your face that allows your true self to come out. With both Zeph and myself having a background in theater, it was a very natural thing to fall into. If our show were a dessert, I think it would be Red Hots mixed with chocolate, strawberries, and licorice. Hot, sweet, tart, and manufactured."

Nastavljam da se dopisujem sam sa sobom. Mozda da se preimenuje topic u bizarne ploce? U svakom slucaju nemam gde drugo ovo da stavim, nadam se da ce bar neko preslusati.

 

Gregorio Paniagua je jedan od najintrigantnijih muzicara XX veka. Poceo od stare muzike, zajedno za bratom Eduardom Paniaguom osnovao Atrium Musicae de Madrid (Eduardo kasnije osnovao kultnu etiketu za spansku muziku srednjeg veka, Pneuma), a nastavio sa nekoliko eksperimentalnih albuma koje je nemoguce svrstati u bilo koji zanr. Moji omiljeni su La Folia i Batiscafo. Ovde jedna cudna kolaboracije izmedju njega i Rite Marley.

I jos jedan Paniaguin album, ovog puta sa prekrasnom Lucio Bose (cuvenom talijanskom glumicom, igrala kod Buñuela, de Santisa, Antonionija, uz to majkom Miguela Bosea, muzicara i glumca iz Visokih potpetica).

 

Naravno, jos jedan poetsko-scensko-muzicki mismas, bizarno i prelepo.
