We like italian people and Siracusa is green all the time, in Norway is grey six months of the year. So it's wonderful for us to be in a place with such colors. It's something we find fantastic. THERE IS A LOT OF SICILY IN YOUR NEW SONG, AT THE BEGINNING I THOUGHT IT WAS ABOUT YOUR FIRST SUMMER IN SIRACUSA. BUT WHEN I HEARD THE SONG I REALIZED THERE WAS A DIFFERENT STORY BEHIND IT... It's a song about Lucia's graduation day, she's a friend of mine in Siracusa, our families are friends. The song is a lot about the day of her graduation, I made her a surprise. We were all there for her. It's also a song about the future, not just about her, but about looking forward to arrive. HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN INTO ITALIAN MUSIC? Every time you go in a place you try to learn a little bit more. When I moved to Siracusa nobody speaked english. It was funny and quite curious, I started learning the language hearing italian music. It's a great thing to learn a language from music. Actually all my friends here in Siracusa who know english tell me that they also learned english from music. WHAT'S ESSENTIAL? DO YOU HAVE A DAILY ROUTINE IN SIRACUSA? As I moved here I definitely started to follow many of the habits from Italy, for example the thing about having a big lunch or a rest in the middle of the day. So my routine is basically wake up, read lots of mail or record some stuff and then have a lunch brake, start working again and then go out for the "aperitivo" in the city, as I don't live in the city but i live a little bit outside. Usually i have dinner at home, we have a terrace and for me it's wonderful to be outside. After dinner we turn off all the lights so we can look at the stars. TODAY YOU ARE RELEASING THE OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR "LA PRIMA ESTATE", DID YOU FILM IT IN SIRACUSA? Yeah, we have some friends who have quite a big lemon farm and most was filmed there. IS THERE GOING TO BE A FOLLOW UP OR AN ALBUM? Well, there won't be an album with italian songs, I will continue to release a lot of things under the name Erlend Øye. There might be more italian songs depending on the feedback, if they like the song maybe i would be more motivated to sing in italian. WHAT'S BEHIND THE SELECTION YOU MADE FOR SNTLS?
